There are about 10GB of .bin files in the ..\GOG.com Download\wasteland_2_kickstarter directory.

This isn't the install folder, C:\GOG Games\Wasteland 2, which is like 21GB. Are they game assets or left over junk from the setup?

Seems weird, none of the other GOG games have huge compressed files floating around. Can, or rather, should I delete them manually?

PC, obviously, running Win 8.1, Wasteland 2 Digital Classic Edition

Most probably this. You can delete them. ;)
Alternately, you could rename them and try it out to see if it broke. Delete if fine.

Thanks, I'd like to get those 10GB back!

I'm giving the solution to alcaray, for a practical and thorough course of action. Also appeals to my over cautious nature!

I'm rep'ing you both, appreciate the posts!

Those are the install files if you ever want to install the game in the future. I will back them up to an external hard drive or to DVD's.

The downloader only makes downloading faster and automatically runs the installer file if you so choose. It thankfully, as far as I'm conerned, doesn't delete the the files.

If you delete them, you will have to download it again in the future, or if something goes wrong and gog goes under (hopefully never) you will loose the game.

Thanks Ravenvolf!

Good advice, and since I only renamed the files I'm backing them up to hard disk. My C: is flash and it's great but not as big as the disk of course.
