The crashes are still there, just not quite as bad as before. It was really bad at the AG center. It is less now that i`m away from it. I tried switching graphic stuff ingame such vertical sync and AF, but it still happens.I wonder if it`s a combination of things such as Windows 10, AMD graphics, etc. The most annoying bugs usually are.

Since forced DirectX 9 mode doesn't crash at all, I just finished a 3 hour session with no crashes vs. the 15 i usually get, I assume it's likely a problem with Unity's DX11 and AMD.

Direct X 9 mode has it's own issues too, it performs poorly and some mobs at Ag Center don't render correctly in DX9 mode. The worms for example leave solid pink trails on the ground when they move.

It's awesome the Director's Cut was free and everthing. But this is very annoying, you gotta wonder if anyone even loaded this game up on AMD test rig and played more than 15 minutes before it was released.

Almost certainly not. They screwed up DX11 for all cards in the original game, so much so that DX11 mode was eventually just disabled in the original Wasteland 2. Doesn't look like InXile has quite gotten the hang of it yet - nor do they seem to have any AMD test machines.

I pretty much agree with you 100 percent , the problem is consistent with AMD machines, but on the other hand, other people have been having trouble with memory leaks too causing a crash to desktop. so here's hoping they fix things soon.

I agree with all of you. I thought the Director`s Cut would not only be the definitive, but the most stable, error-free version.

I`m disappointed to find out it isn`t. It`s technically worse than the original since that one never crashed on me.

Yeah that's what's annoying me the most, I had that same expectation. Now I either have to deal with an unsupported lower quality graphics mode or constant crashing.

I just hope it's something that will get fixed up reasonably soon, been looking forward to another playthrough since the DC edition was announced.
Well, I thought the crashes were less, but now they`ve started happening a lot again as I get around what`s left of Highpool. In fact, I had one crashed, restarted and it happened straight away as soon as I went into the inventory. And it just happened again why I`m here.

Can`t play it while it`s like this- A guy spends a LOT of time in the inventory and these crashes make it impossible. Are the Devs doing anything about this?

There's a thread going about the crashes on the steam forums as well, sear asked everyone to send information to their support, I'd suggest everyone here with the problem does the same.

The following link has the information they need sent.

He also announced they determined what's causing at least one of the crash problems:

Thanks. So we have to disable shadows to fix this for now?

Ok...

Ok...
disabled shadows, game still crashes , i have sent the support staff an email with all the necessary logs and screenshots as mike suggested

I tested that as well, it doesn't fix the character/inventory screen crashes unfortunately. I couldn't even play long enough without crashing to test if it fixes the memory leak issue.

OK fair warning: I'm going into cynical mode here.. ahem.

Quoting from the developer's comment in the link above:
Our apologies on the inconvenience here. This issue did not show up in any of our testing prior to release so it's pretty surprising for us to see a bunch of people affected, but ...
... we just didn't test the game on any AMD GPUs.
Must admit I sometimes wonder what game testers are doing, when more often than not, once the game is released there is a pileup of bugs. Hard to believe none of them have picked up the issue of crashes in the inventory screen for instance. But then I don't know what's happening on the inside, either with the game or the studio.

I see they have dropped the Red Boots though. Maybe they ran out of boots? :(

Haha it sure seems that way, priority QA for the console editions is probably the culprit here.

I hit the final straw last night when an old bug occured on me in combat yet again, which is the screen locking on the grid, but the background scrolls. I had this happen many times playing through the original game, pretty much have to reload your save any time it happens. I've also had stuff I know I picked up disappear from my inventory too and that didn't even happen in the original.

At this point even if a patch comes out soon my experience so far has soured me so bad i'm probably going to wait a while before playing again.

Same here, I'm not going to attempt another playthrough until after this version has been patched and properly betatested. It simply isn't fit for release at the moment.

Losing progress in a game like this because of a crash is just too frustrating. I don't want my experience soured any more than it already is.
