Hi guys,

We have uploaded the latest patch for Wasteland 1. Please check your game shelves for the Universal update that is just under the main installer :)

Changelog:

Occasional missing paragraphs are fixed
Occasional missing uprezzed portraits are fixed
Mouse sensitivity is now overridden to be uniform on both axis
Frequency of freezing should be reduced. If you still experience freezes, the workaround to only use the keyboard still works
Volume options added to the options menu
Dosbox config file is now exposed and can be edited AT YOUR OWN RISK
# When run with Wasteland, this file gets copied to:

# %localappdata%\inXile entertainment\Wasteland\wl.conf (Windows 7/8)
# C:\Local Settings\%USER%\Local Settings\Application Data\inXile entertainment\Wasteland\wl.conf (Windows XP/Vista)
# ~/Library/Application Support/Wasteland/wl.conf (OSX)
# ~/.wasteland/wl.conf (Linux)

# where you may EDIT AT YOUR OWN RISK

Sorry about the delay and we hope you have a nice day :)
Cool, thanks! Have a nice one too!:)
A bugfix 25 years after release :P
I was just about to go to bed when I saw I had a game update, so I downloaded I tried to install it. It says "Some errors occurred, see patch_log.txt for details." The patch_log.txt contains the following:

Wasteland patch log
Update from version 2.0.0.5 to 2.0.1.6

Incorrect version of: D:\Wasteland\rom\data\GAME1

I'll have to wait until tomorrow to get my backup drive out and re-install from scratch.
I can see only this one config file but it is called wl.default.conf and in c:\gog games\wasteland (Windows7).
I see 1 folder with inxile entertainment in the appdata directory but it does not hold any .conf file.

And here I was still skeptical that this was running through DOSBox, because I have never heard of such hi res on DOS in the first place. I knew I was wrong, but I was kinda expecting someone would come out and say it was no DOS at all sooner or later.

Come to think of it, there are plenty of hi-res games on DOS, but still, how can they not be able to edit legacy Wasteland source and still make changes to the game?

It's running in a custom modified DOSBox, there's a link to the changes in one of the text files shipped with the game, or you can find them here: https://github.com/kayahr/dosbox/tree/wasteland
Can anyone confirm that freezes are fixed/ less frequent ?
I just uninstalled and reinstalled and I didn't get the error I did before, but after applying the patch it removes the manual. I know it's part of the extras, but it seems weird to install it, then remove it with the patch and leave the shortcut to it in the Start Menu.

I had no more freezes after patching and playing it with mouse control.
I played Wasteland when it first came out. Don't like the graphics in the newer version. Does the one listed on GoG work on a Windows 11 computer?
