Hello everyone,
I'm hoping there are still some DOSBox experts here.
I've just installed Wasteland Classic on a new PC, Win11 Pro with a 4K display and I'm trying to run the game in windowed mode with a different resolution than what the game provides as default.
For the life of me, I can't figure out the correct parameters. Does anyone have DOSBox parameters to make this work?
I'm editing the dosbox parameters (the one in %appconfig%\inXile entertainment\Wasteland\wl.conf
A couple of notes:
1. I'm able to disable fullscreen, so I know I'm editing the correct file.
2. I'm able to change the "size of the game" in fullscreen mode, but the screen resolution works the opposite of what I would expect.
For example:
* when in fullscreen mode, the 1280x720 option fills the entire screen.
* oddly, when I run with 3840x2160, the game is super tiny in fullscreen mode (aka looks like 1280x720, or even less)
fullresolution=3840x2160
fullresolution=2560x1440
fullresolution=1920x1080
fullresolution=1280x720
3. Changing "window resolution" only seems to affect the DOX window that first appears in the game, which gives you options like resuming a saved game, running the game reset option, etc.
4. I am running with output=overlay and aspect=false.
The config entries I've been experimenting with are below.
Appreciate if anyone can lend a hand, thanks!
fullscreen=false
#fullscreen=true
## fullresolution settings seem to have the *opposite* effect.
## 1280x720 makes the image fill the entire display within fullscreen
## 3840x2160 makes the image the smallest within fullscreen
#fullresolution=3840x2160
#fullresolution=2560x1440
fullresolution=1920x1080
#fullresolution=1280x720
## window resolution only seems to affect that actual DOS text window, not the game window size.
#windowresolution=2560x1440
windowresolution=1920x1080
#windowresolution=1280x720
#windowresolution=original
output=overlay
#output=surface
