In Wasteland 1, which attributes should I look for good scores in, and where should I spend my level up points?

I've heard something about luck being able to increase ranged damage; is that true, and does it warrant putting points there until it maxes?

Which attribute should I focus on for my anti-tank user, if I don't want their attacks to miss, wasting expensive weapons? (Then again, it may be better to sell some of the found AT weapons instead of actually using them?)

(Assume, for now, that each character has enough IQ to learn every skill I want that character to learn.)
my characters in the game i usually have them use chainsaws and brawling the first half of the game and switch to energy weapons the later harder half of the game. Early on brawling and chainsaws can handle most foes, some go with assault weapons but they do the same damage as chainsaws, and since im built for brawling/melee early why worry about developing other weapons that do the same damage.

Raise IQ to 23 so you can pick up energy weapons when you can to use in the last half of the game, chainsaws are subpar vs the harder late game enemies, you'll need the punch of energy weapons then.

Yes luck is very important for either melee or shooting builds because it effects both, so for my builds which are melee half the game, and energy weapons late game, luck is my 2nd most important stat after IQ. I try and get high IQ and luck early on so they are developed.
