Close to 48 hours now, which is quite frankly terrible service. There are very serious errors in the game, and patch 4 is supposed to fix the most serious of them (endless combat, crucial quest in Hollywood/GP).

Thankfully for GOG, buying anything on Shite isn't an option for me, but if I didn't care about DRM, as sadly most people don't, you can bet your shiny ass I would be buying future games there. GOG simply needs to step up their game if they want to compete directly for customers that don't care about DRM.

I'm irritated with Gog for various reasons-

-their communication with customers is shit (inxile developers respond to customers quicker than gog on gog forums, gog doesn't respond) Of course inxiles solution was contact customer support...great, lets all bombard customer support asking for patches they've deleted and made obsolete.

-Having to re-download 10gb game to install a 200mb patch, with NO comment from Gog as to why that is?

-Gog released other patches that broke the game, which then (once again) meant game had to be re-downloaded and re-installed.

In spite of your ass-umption (hyperbole) at claiming YOU (masterrace) know, I understand very well the difference between good, adequate, and shitty customer service.

It's not the fact that I have to wait for a patch that is irritating to the point of considering buying elsewhere, it's their attitude about everything and how the company has changed over the past year and this (poor patch implimentation) is just another thing added to the loss of my enthusiasm for this company. Part of the irritation is that I don't receive a notification when they've patched W2 because of the Torment kickstarter backer edition of W2 that I have, so after becoming aware that a patch has been released (which matters to me, lots of times with a new game it doesn't because I'm not itching to play it as much as I am this one), I have to keep checking manually to see if it has been updated on here YET. Yes, it's not hard, and it's not that direct issue that has me so irritated, but the fact that they don't seem to care or be responsive to the issues at all. Tell us, GOG, why exactly does your QA process take so long? TELL US what you're doing andthe understanding will go a long way. Simply saying "we have our own QA to go through before we release the patch" is an empty reason. Be specific, if what you're doing is ACTUALLY quality assurance, you should be confident that your customers will be happy with that process and support it, rather than bitch at you for it. I haven't been able to enjoy playing for over a month now (and so haven't been playing) and am waiting for them to patch the issue I am having that is making the game unenjoyable for me. Obviously it's not the wait on GOG that is the issue, if I've been waiting for months for them to fix the issue, a day here or there isn't that much of a difference to get my panties in a wad, it's just the whole stink of it all that is off-putting.

I almost never buy new games (I've bought less than 10 "new releases" in the past 10 years), but when I do, I'm almost never playing it upon release because of my understanding of bugs and patches and over 20 years of gaming I'd just rather wait to have a more workable/complete version of a title before starting it. I usually wait 6 months (that is my default wait time), sometimes even a year. W2 was different for me, obviously my mistake, I wanted to play it ASAP and it seemed workable and tested enough that there wouldn't be any issues serious enough to hinder a playthrough (knowing I'd very likely playthrough more than once.) So, I'm just a little frustrated, because the 1 time I decided to NOT do that, it didn't work. I'm not trying to be dramatic about it or woe is me or anything, it's a fucking video game and this world is going to shit because everyone is selfish/self-centered and doesn't care about things that matter, I understand the relativity of it all. This isn't the place to talk socia change, it's the place to talk video games.

No, for many people the game is NOT working; this patch was released very early to fix some major issues, one of which is an endless combat bug. Add GOG's complete lack of communication on patch issues and you get upset customers. If they would take two minutes to put up a sticky post along the lines of "we're working on the patch and hope to have it up by tomorrow (or whenever) but we're still working out our system for patching new releases, we understand your frustration" it would make a world of difference.

Add me to the list of folks who are irritated at the lack of any sort of communication from GoG regarding this patch; irritated to the point where it will impact my decisions on where to buy new-release games in the future.

I try to be practical about the state of the gaming industry and the inevitability of patches, and for most games I either hold off on day-one purchases or buy the game but postpone playing until several months have passed so that the critical bugs can be found and fixed. For Wasteland 2 I did wait a couple weeks, but eventually reached the point where I was between games and really wanted to get started. I was able to get going and didn't have any problems while the first three patches were produced. Right about the time the content of Patch 4 was announced, I'd started on the Canyon of Titan map. I noticed that patch 4 includes fixes for a couple bugs in that area, and I've been checking here a couple times a day to see if the patch was available so that I could apply it before I ran into a problem. I think I've now made ti past at least one of the troublesome areas of the map, but my enjoyment of the map was decreased because of the back-of-the-mind knowledge that there was a known bug that could stop me cold (and, for all I know, render the save file unusable) at any moment.

My disappointment in the delay for the patch is overshadowed by my annoyance that GoG haven't opted to even acknowledge that they're working on it, or to give an ETA for its delivery. GoG will still be my go-to place for any game that's a year or more old, but for anything other than that, the sub-optimal processing of patches will be a definite strike against GoG as the vendor of choice.

Patch 4 is there in my library. 350mb or so.

About bloody time, 3 days late.

There was the same kind of patching issues with Divinity: original sin.
To the point where after having applied few patches the game crashed at startup right away. So I re-downloaded the whole setup and it was fine. I'm happy I can afford that.

So from now on I will always wait:
1) a bargain price ...
2) .. which will obviously occur after 6 months/1 year and so after several patches.

In the end: I get a better game for less money.

I have enough other unfinished/on going games to wait anyway.
