I just downloaded and installed this, and I cannot get it to work when it comes to the keyboard.

The game boots up, and then gives me the main window asking me to start a new game and such. It will either not recognize keyboard input, or if I hit 'N' it will just start sticking the letter in and never stopping. Most of the time it just ignores keyboard input.

I also cannot change it to windowed mode with ALT+Enter. Nothing at all happens. I have to ALT+Tab out to get to the desktop, and then close it from the taskbar.

Question nothing happens when you press start? also I found (for me at least) using the mouse cause the game to freeze a lot

I have a problem with the game not recognizing my keyboard settings so in order to select a character/item/... I have to SHIFT+click the number key.

I'm not even into the game yet. I get the main menu (with new game, settings, quit). If I try to start a new game by hitting 'n' it either doesn't recognize it (and ignores the other options like 's' or 'q'), or will accept the 'n', ask for a name, and just repeat 'n' repeatedly like I'm hold down the 'n' key.

What keyboard do you use?
Maybe you have some keyboard tools installed... Some keyboards have additional keys and software. Try disabling it. Also, if you have some controllers connected, try to disconnect them. Once I've got input issues because I had my chinese gamepad connected. After removing it issues dissapeared.

If it asks for a name then type in more than 1 letter and hit enter.
