How do I make the mouse leave the window while playing windowed? I usually have at least Skype running so I can chat with friends while I game, and having to save and quit to respond is annoying, to say the least.

(With my luck it's something obvious and I'm just an idiot. Feel free to laugh at me if it is!)

The DosBox shortcut is CTRL-F10, but apparently most of those have been disabled. Switching to fullscreen and back with ALT-ENTER seems to work for me, but is hardly ideal (although better than quitting).

UPDATE: Try CTRL-ALT-TAB, works for me on Windows 7.

Alt+Tab alone works for me in most DosBox games.

They've built a special DOSBox build for this, and it seems to take over most of the Windows key combinations - including alt+tab and the Windows key itself.

Yeah, I've come to see this since my earlier post. Its annoying.

What I'm doing for Wasteland is to play in full screen, then use Alt+[Enter] to get out of full screen and put me to my desktop.
Yeah. I edited the DOSBox config (which is possible with the latest update installed) to run in a window by default and to not lock the mouse to the game window. This lets me click outside the game window to change focus or minimize.
Can you post the changes here so I can copy them? I'd love to run Wasteland windowed by default.

After you've fully launched the game at least once and then exited, browse in Windows Explorer to C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Local\inXile entertainment\Wasteland and open wl.conf in a text editor.

Change:
fullscreen=true to fullscreen=false
autolock=true to autolock=false

Save, exit, and re-launch the game.
I'm guessing that's somewhere wholly different when you install the game under Wine in Kubuntu. I'll scout around, using your instructions as a basis. Thanks!

As this is an old game that ran under DOS, not Windows, the GOG release runs under Dosbox. I found its config on my Ubuntu GNU/Linux system in ~/.wasteland/wl.conf

I think at the time I posted this, the only installation files were for Windows and had to be run under Wine.
