I can run the game fine at 60fps on 'Good' settings at 1920x1080, with vysnc on, but the fan on my 560ti goes absolutely mental. Literally nothing else makes my GPU get as hot as this game, it's bizarre. Almost reaching 70 degrees in the first area alone.

In case it helps, my specs:

Windows 7 x64
8gb RAM
NVidia GTX 560ti (running the latest drivers, released yesterday.)
Intel Sandy Bridge i5 2500k @ 4gHz

Anyone else getting this? I did some Googling and it appears to have been an issue in the past, but it sounds like there's been a lot of work done on the game since then.

Is vsync actually working, you know, when you scrolled out and do some WASD and mousewheel at the same time... does the screen tear at some lines or do you have all full pictures?
I have the same setup, save for the same MOBO and nvidia model.

The best solution would be to cap the frame rate to 50 or lower so that your GPU usage is not maxed out. You can use nVidia Inspector or Dxtory which are both free. I would say Dxtory is the easier to use and don't forget to disable vsync.

Thanks for the replies! I just tried forcing vsync via Nvidia Inspector and that seems to have helped a lot. Really strange though, as my FPS wasn't exceeding 60 before. I'm not sure what was stressing out the GPU so much!
70° degrees, this is not very "hot" for a graphic card, it is a good temperature.
This will sound stupid, but do you dust out your system frequently?
Every six months or so, I was going to today but couldn't remember where I put the compressed air. Anyway, I guess 70 degrees isn't going to fry the card, but even Crysis 3 didn't get the card this hot!
Since when has 70 degrees been too hot? I thought that was a perfectly normal temp for high load.
One thing that cuts down the heat a lot is turning off shadows in the graphics options menu.
Unity being Unity. Disable shadows.

pbaggers: Unity being Unity. Disable shadows.
Yeah, Unity is known to do that.

It kinda feels silly to say this because this game isn't really that 3D heavy, but I'd really like to see CrossFireX support (and SLI) for this game, so people with multiple GPUs can take the edge off Unity's performance issues.

I have an entire AMD 7950 GPU picking its nose while the other one is blowing hot air like crazy.

It is.

80C+ without overclocking and you should start to consider what kind of airflow your case has and of course ambient temperature the house has that you have your computer in.

Doesnt this also depend on your card? My last card only had a single cooler and it usually maxed at 85C. Even the one before it and those computers were very well ventilated.

Indeed, one of the factors is the type of card.

Try disabling SSAO.
