For me getting Angela Deth was just put such a grin on my face. I am glad I got to play a character from the original game. Another character that is turn out amazing from have to be Lexcanium and Ralphy. They were not the best but put in a little work and as Brawling and Melee characters they are quite the Duo. So what NPCs are you attached to?

So far Angela and Scotchmo. I hate drinking and anything associated with alcohol, but I like how everyone reacts to my party when I take him with me. He has some hilarious dialogue.
Lexcanium, he deals massive damage in combat, can take a lot damage, and he specialized in several skills that I otherwise did not have in my party.
Scotchmo is funny. Does nothing but shoots shotguns though. Low INT and high LUCK :D Love it.

Rose is my official weaponsmith & toaster specialist. A bit boring as a character though. Plenty of skill points @10 INT.

it all depends where you take her to be honest. Her backstory and the some of the people she knows is very interesting

Where did you find this Scotomo? I mostly likely missed him. He sounds like a blast to have along

You get him in the Rail Nomads Camp. I like him for the funny comments/dialog, but he's so far been pretty useless in battle (the battle's usually over before he can even get close in for a shot).

I really like Angela, and for utility purposes, I'm also quite liking Vulture's Cry. She hasn't got a lot of Action Points, but she's making a great sniper and often gets an extra AP from Luck. I've picked up[ Ralphy but so far just left him at the Ranger Center. I'll probably take him along a bit later.

Haven't seen any other companions yet, since I'm still tooling around Arizona and haven't done a lot of areas yet.

Yes of course, I haven't seen everything yet!
*light spoiler*

Angela will not stay. AFAIK the only "Recruit" that will leave at a certain stage in game. So don't rely some vital group jobs like weapopn upgrades on her all exclusive. The next one I got was a lousy replacement with that, with assault rifles & already leveled to 20 so training him up is out of question to.

Good thing I assigned my sniper weaponsmithing skill. I do lack someone with assault rifles skill. Must rectify that.
Why does Rose stay with the rangers? Did I miss some written dialogue or is it not explained at all? I thought she only tagged along to save Ag Center so I was surprised to see her stick around without saying a word after the crisis was solved. It even made me regret frantically spending skill points to unlock surgeon to save her life at the end of the final battle of Ag Center, it would have been such a perfect story beat for her to die on.

She always wanted to be a ranger :)

IIRC her reasons are partially explained in a log she carries with her. Was surprised to till I overread it somewhere.

With high Perception skill, you can pick up another log from the Plastic Garden in Ag Center, which sheds even more shocking light on her story. My jaw dropped when I read it.

I hope other recruits have such twists in their stories.

If you search the Ag Center you can find her dairy that explains a few things

It has to be Rose simply because she allowed me to not have to choose surgeon or field medic with any of my main 4 characters, which really opened up the game a bit more I feel like. Plus her personality is fun and story is good as far as I know it so far. The other character stories are interesting but I don't end up wanting to keep them because they feel like XP leeches rather than additions. Scotchmo I will keep until he goes away maybe though.
