There seems to be some kind of a bug when speaking to Cpl. Hawco under some circumstances. I just finished the Radio Tower->Ag. Center->Infested Farm path and got back to Rangers' base. I the visited the shop outside the base, the general, the shop inside the base, quartermaster, museum (I ordered a tour) and then went straight to canteen. When I asked Cpl. Hawco about recruits I had the following options:
- Nevermind
- Angela
- Rose
- Spyke (?)
- Mumbles (?)
- Slick (?)
The last three options had the following reply attached to them:
"His name is [insert a name]. He was a raider, but we convinced him to join the Rangers."
The thing is I have not met anyone named Spuke, Mumbles or Slick yet.

When you go by first time to the radio tower were the old rangers die, you find 3 raiders owning the place (plus other 3 in other part). If you use one of the Ass skills you can convince them to join to the ranks (other options is to scare them, confuse them or the classic and traditional kill-them).

Yes, this might be it. But I can't find those recruits anywhere for "recruitment". If I "recruited" them, then where are they?

They are not playable NPC, so probably are recruits being tortured in training by Vargas

I just remembered, I had three raider names to choose from, but after reporting the recruitment of one of them (I think that I chose Spyke), I couldn't report that I also recruited Mumbles and Slick. Is it a bug or is it how it's supposed to be? Did I receive experience points for all of those three guys when I reported only Spyke?

Cpl. Hawco have responded that they're wimps so he'll pay some little amount of money for all three of them.
