From the description, it sounds as if there has been some overhaul to the game. The original Wasteland did not check for integer overflow (so for some counters, 127+1= negative 128!). Has integer overflow been fixed as part of this release?
A fix could be "good" or "bad", depending on one's perspective. There were several interesting tricks and discoveries from overflow -- ones that I won't post here since the game is so recently re-released and at least one probably counts as a spoiler (but all of which can be found on old Wasteland FAQs on the web) . That one is referenced in Fallout and Fallout 2, and it would be nice for old Tribals who are aspiring Rangers to be able to play with the best and original model.
Also, on a personal note: I'm glad this game came out. Because I have lugged around a PS/2 through four moves to ensure that I had a machine that would play this game in the original speed - thanks to GOG, I can finally recycle that machine.
