The character models have gotten a revamp. Language detection and translations have been improved. Perhaps the largest change is a number of rendering and control improvements across various platforms.

Edit: GOG hasn't released an update for Warsow 1.5 yet.

Not as far as I am aware. It might be a while.
Yes 1.5 is officially out! GOG please update the game to the appropriate and latest version.
Why is GOG promoting an outdated game? You get it for free when signing up with GOG, but 6 months after the v1.5 (v1.51 by now) update, we (GOG-members) still get v1.02?

Perhaps because this is probably one of the least played/favoured games you get for free when you join GOG? Maybe the developers are aware of that, I'm sure I would be, and stopped sending GOG any updates to their game.

If it's still being actively developed and updated and it has some kind of fanbase that follows the game, then it's obvious those fans will get the updated version for free from the game's or the developers' main website. Most GOG users aren't exactly thrilled about Warsow and couldn't care less if they get an up-to-date version. If, by any chance, a GOG user starts playing this game and enjoys it a whole lot, they can keep updating it from the main site of the game. It's good for GOG, as they have one more free game to give newcomers, and it's good for Warsow devs, as they get some much needed publicity, via GOG, and those who like their game can move on to their official website. Makes sense to me.
I would like to think that it is better for GOG and the dev (and us gamers) if we get the latest version of the game. I guess the majority of GOG downloaders now even don't know that this isn't the latest version. I only discovered it after checking this forum and searching in the game for a well hidden release number.

And of course there are more players online in v1.51...
