Hi, there!
I bought Warlords III a month ago. The game worked like a charm but a couple of days ago, I started to have some weird problems.
First of all, I can't select any unit with the left mouse button. I must select it with the "select group" button and, then, the problem dissapears during and only that game. But the weirdest of all is that there is not any animations during combat, such as the explosions or the arrows piercing the enemy. Also, when I search a ruin, instead the usual text revealing slowly (with the proper sounds), it appears at once. I tried to reinstall the game, tweaking the options on DirectX Config and trying each Windows compatibility configuration but nothing.

Can you help me? Thanks! And sorry for my bad english.

You can restore your Windows system to an earlier point before you had these problems with the Game. Chances are that some of the Windows files for this game got corrupted if you have been installing a lot of other Games/Apps.
Google “restore PC to earlier state”.
I personally never had issues with this game on Win 10.
I also have a Laptop running Win XP that I have specifically for this game where I also create custom scenarios. I use the original disk and I prefer it because the music sounds better and graphics look sharper using the original disk. Warlords III DLR is my all time most favorite game and having a laptop just for it is worth it.

Thanks but I discovered that the problem was a W10 upgrade. Another one fixed it.

Yes, this game is awesome.
While I'm practicing thread necromancy (which seems fitting for Warlords) - has anyone else encountered the glitches from this thread, and/or know the explanation?

Like the OP, I can no longer use my mouse to select units or stacks in the game (without cycling through them all), and my animations have vanished. Is there an easier fix than tinkering with Windows itself?
