I know that GOG has added other versions of games later on after release and I was wondering if there was at all a possibility of that happening with Warlords II. We have the Deluxe version and I do understand that that version is more robust and has more than the vanilla release but there are a bunch of things that it changes that make me crave having the capacity to have access to the vanilla release as well.

First and foremost, for me, is that Warlords II Deluxe has an almost entirely different soundtrack from the vanilla release. Some of the songs are just using more instruments and have a "fuller" sound but the majority of the soundtrack is brand new and I am actually more nostalgic for the Warlords II vanilla soundtrack as I grew up playing vanilla and not Deluxe.

Warlords II Deluxe also replaces the army sets for the vanilla maps. Now this isn't that huge of an issue to solve because another user on here created a custom setup that can be loaded into Deluxe that will restore the army set icons for vanilla maps but, as far as I can tell, you cannot do something like this to replace the soundtrack for Deluxe.

I don't think that my request is a huge ask, considering that Warlords II vanilla is easily available and very easy to add into the package, especially as Warlords 1 is already part of the bundle. Also this wouldn't be the first time that GOG has done this, I recall when all of the Lucasarts games came to GOG and there was a very vocal demand for TIE Fighter to include the 1995 Collector's CD Edition of the game in addition to the original 1994 release and the 1998 release that the GOG originally came with.

Please GOG, find a way to have vanilla Warlords II be part of the Warlords/Warlords II Deluxe bundle. It is nowhere near as big of an ask than others you have done in the past.

First, I agree with you, as I would also like to have vanilla Warlords 2 (and the scenario editor!) included in the bundle. However, you're underestimating the effort involved. Consider the cost/benefit to GOG: They have to negotiate the rights for the game, which *is* going to cost them something, no matter how little. Then, what are they getting out of it? There's three guys in this thread, maybe a few dozen people in the world altogether, who care about getting vanilla Warlords 2 from GOG. And all of us probably already own the current bundle, so there's not going to be any extra revenue.

I have no idea who currently holds the rights to Warlords 1, 2 and 2 Deluxe. If it's all the same entity, maybe they're amenable to making it available too and it'd be an easy process. Add in Warlords 3 Reign of Heroes while you're at it.

How long did it take for the Collector's CD edition to be included in the X-Wing/TIE Fighter bundles? The best case scenario would be that they can create a bit more buzz and publicity by releasing Warlords 2 vanilla and RoH a few months down the line, but the Warlords series had nowhere near the same cachet as the X-Wing/TIE Fighter series had.
