Hello all, I have purchased Warlords 2 Battlecry on GOG in the past, but am wondering if it can port to my new laptop, which is Windows 11??
I always used to love these older Windows RTS games, but they rarely seem to port to the newer Windows versions for one reason or another, and I was hoping that this one could be played on a newer device, using a more recent WIndows system. Can someone tell me if this game is just too old for Windows 11, or not Please??
Thanks up front!!

Do not look there. Official supported OS by GOG is listed in Sys.Req. section - not there.

In general - should be ok. If it work on Win10 now. But this is Microsoft and Win10(11) - you never know what be broken after next update.

If not working, check this

If it is about slowness\GFX glithes or black screens - you can try to use some ddraw\d3d wrappers
GOG's DX Wrapper (dxcfg.exe\dll\ini files from many old games builds, but no public dowanlod links), wined3d, narzoul ddrawcompat, degevoodoo, dxwrapepr (+ini file) and many-many else with many-nay forks of each others.

(GOG wrapper is included with one of the Warlords 3\WBC 1-3 game)
look here for dxcfg file
http://www.gogdb.org/products?search=warlords

Most easiest - narzoul and WineD3D - no settings. Little bit settings for dxwrapper and GOG DXCFG. degevoodoo have many settings, and im not recommend to use while there is many alternatives.

There is Windows ADK (and Compatibility Administator component of it), or DxWnd - two coplicated tools to solve many compatibility issues. DxWnd is better one, Microsoft cant do anything properly.
Windows ADK is a apps-bundle that not needed, but Ms Applciation Compatibility Toolkit 5.6 (last separate version) is not supported from Win10, and Windwos 10\11 require Windwos ADK specific build for specifc Windows udpate build.

Since Ms ADK (ACT) and DxWnd is complicated tools - im not recommend them as well. DxWnd is msot useful of this, cause ADK and degevoodoo can be skipped for one-dll-file wrapers doing same fixes (ADK have a lot of feaures, but they not needed), DxWnd is one that have unique compatibility features not avaiable elsewhere. For example - AudioCD compatibility and old Windows sound mixer wrapping (to adjust music level for games where is no music slider - like it be on Win98\ME).
For most games - GOG DXCFG or WineD3D or narzoul is enough.
