I've read in many places of the internet that Leprechauns gather gold.
But nowhere in the game nor in the manual did I find that information mentioned.

So I'm asking the people, do you know about it? and if yes, where did you find this information?
Are there any other racial units or buildings that gather ressources?
Because I'm playing an alchemist and, that's the kind of skill that might interest me.

Thanks in advance.
Ancient Wisps Generate crystals at the same rate as a level 1 mine. It means that with a load of them, and Elcor's Balm researched, you can have almost unlimited healing of your hero.
I don't know which version you're referring to.
In WBC3, I'm not aware of leprechauns themselves generating gold, but the come from a building which can be upgraded to provide a fair bit of gold income. There are many other buildings that increase resource production, and certain races can of course put workers into mines to boost productiivty. Certain magic items also provide a flow of resources.
There is one more source of income and it is somewhat cumbersome to use. If you play as an undead race. Their zombie can "gather" corpses for an one time boost to resource.
And there is another resource income, you can get 100 gold for every successful assassinate attempt and 50 stone from a successful stone gaze. This effective make the minotaurs the offensive race as it have both and the unit that have assassinate need stone and unit that have stone gaze need gold.

Oh yes, speaking of units which generate income, of course basilisks produce stone when they kill a foe, and Fey towers likewise produce crystals. It's fun having the computer send waves of trivial fliers against your Fey towers. Bonanza!
