Hi all,i just recently installed Warlords Battlecry II just for fun and to remember old days,and i have an old hero save,witch i easy copy into my documents and replace the old ones,the trick is i put a password on that hero.Now i cant remember because it was a long time ago and i would really like to play with that hero. Is there any program or some kind of way to edit or remove the password from my hero. Any advice is welcome and thanks in front.

From what I can tell, it's stored in the Herodata.xcr file. I can't find any online editor for this file (apart from your standard auto-generated virus links). There doesn't seem to be an easy way to blank the password, and I don't know the format of the file. I tried opening it in a hex editor, and while there are some readable bits, there was nothing I could edit that helped.

Sorry I can't be more help. There is a chap who posts a lot of modding links on here who might be able to help you, but I haven't seen him around recently.

I have never tried to hex edit the herodata.xcr file so don't have a way to unlock your hero . I would just try to remember best his class ,skills ,level and get a good xp map and rebuild him
