Hello,
The game came with some bonus material, which is great. But where do I put it?
In the case of the avatar file, I guess it was meant to add choices to the list of avatar you can use. It came with no instruction, and I haven't found an obvious jpeg directory where the new files could be just added. (The game seems to use custom files for art in general.)
Any one know where to dump the few added jpeg avatar?

No problem. You're not the first one to mistake them for in-game material. Most of the extra material is not for games, they are just extras you can view, listen or read (artwork, soundtracks, videos etc.) or something you can use elsewhere (wallpapers, avatars, desktop themes etc). At least couple do have something to use in game: Fallout Tactics has an extra mission you can install and stronghold has excalibur pack that adds famous castles for player to defend. Other games may have more.
