I just played the Sven Carlsson mission (the one where Hiln is killed) twice. First time I lost 10 soldiers, the second attempt I lost 6. After the missioner I am only able to hire 1 measly man.
Are reinforcements generally this limited? Anyone know?

I found a walkthrough, which claims you should be able to hire 10 reinforcements after this mission. But that's clearly not true.

I am more familiar with the PS1 version but I think the reinforcments can be a bit random. You just have to make due with what you get.

Yes, reinforcement are very limited in general. There are missions after which you do not get any so you really need to be careful managing your troops count.

Not sure about the reinforcement after the particular mission you mention but from what i recall rarely you get more than 4-6 back.

After the battle you get af count of dead and a count of wounded.
You can only hire to replace the dead. You have to wait for the wounded to recover.
