1) When an enemy breaks and run away, the Grudgebringer cavalry will always instantly loose 1 unit. This is a gamebreaker bug since sometimes there are many missions in a row without reinforcements and you can loose several units in each battle due to this. I think this was in the original version as well, and not in the GoG version

2) For some reason in my first play through I encounted a series of 6 missions without reinforcements and I had to give up about 1/3 though the game. I later learned(walkthroughs) that I was supposed to get reinforcements for after several of the missions, but none was offered! New units was offered (first motar etc.) but never reinforcements.

1. I don't see why this is a bug, not to mention game-breaking. When your unit flees you are supposed to take heavy losses. That's why you should avoid this to happen to any of your core units.

2. Which missions you did not get reinforcement after? I remember that there is a spell of several missions without reinforcements if you decide to take a revenge path rather than go to Zhufbar after Orc Pursuit mission. Also, in general the game is stingy with reinforcements. So one needs to be both very careful and lucky. Therefore, many times one needs to replay the same mission several times to achieve acceptable outcome in terms of men losses.

My main issue with the game is that it depends so much on luck... I had situations where a single unit of enemy that has been severely weakened by missle units is able to deal heavy losses despite being attacked by 2-3 friendly units (or even forcing them to flee). Not to mention your cannon/mortars exploding with the first shot, argh!!! And I also found the 3d map really buggy so one has to rely on the minimap. Which is fine but it was frustrating to learn this the hard way...

When an enemy routs you will sometimes lose a man, its always been that way in the Playstation release at least. My take is that it was a rolled loss at the same time as the rolled rout for the other unit in the game, so sometimes it happens.
The game was - correctly - heavily based on the table top and with all dice and table top games (especially of that era) it could all change with a roll of the dice. This was fun as long as it was fair, but we tend to remember in computer games when the game screws us over more than when the game let you win when you came up with good rolls. With the table top you at least saw the dice so understood the random nature of it and the fairness or fun of that.
It is when the ENEMY unit breaks and grudgebringer cavalry starts to chase them down, then cavalry instantly looses one uinit. This can cost several cavalry units in a single fight. I took the revenge path with no reinforcements for 6
fights in a row and according to various walkthroughs I was supposed to get reinforcements multiple times.

You get the option of replacing looses after many missions. Are you sure youknow how to do it?
