Just wondering, but those Dow1 and 2 Collections, do you need to be online to play skirmish vs Ai opponents, or just if you want to play versus other players?

skirmish work offline.
As for DoW2 downgrade patch... There is such warez repacks based on old games. Same for GTA4Complete. DoW1 are easier - it was DRMfree some time before Steam. DoW2 always be GFWL or Steam+GFWL.

So someone might not be able to use the lan fix because of various reasons(e.g. like uninstalling steam version's soulstorm), ways to fix this would be ....
Use the race unlocker but that requires CD Key so good luck on that.
I tested it on two machines and now can play Soulstorm in LAN with my friends.
As stated, you need to find some CD keys to use the race unlocker on github by FireEmerald, but it also does work, all races are selectable in Soulstorm now.
