I have vista and nividia gtx 450 and 2 gb of ram. Something like this happen for me first time. I don't know what to do now, please help.

I'm having the same issue. I wonder if it was the hotfix for Windows 10? Unfortunately I don't have an older version of the installer to check.

I just got this game and I too get the Can't find CDrom Error.

WHAT THE HELL GOG, why are you distributing a game that asks for a CD-Rom?
What am I supposed to do, go to a shady website to get a CD crack for a Gog distributed game?

I had the same problem with wh40k.exe asking for its CD, though it was on Wine running on GNU/Linux. It turned out that GOG installer executes a file called regs.cmd located in game installation directory which is supposed to add some game related entries to Windows registry. It failed, and the problem was with the second line, namely:
SET locpath=%~dp0
which was not understood by Wine's command line implementation and therefore the cmd file was not executed properly.

My inspection of Windows registry confirmed that almost none of the entries were present, so I had to add them manually. Additionally I copied wing.32 to %SystemRoot%\System32\wing32.dll.

This fixed my installation of Chaos Gate.

I'm not sure if this information will be helpful to Windows users, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to check the registry and compare entries that are present there with what Chaos Gate expects to have.

I can tell you what I did and and it worked for me 100 percent:
I used the older version from GOG that I retrieved( 2.0.0.13). The new version (1.2-hotfix2) gave me the same error you got.
I use a latitude D820 WIN XP Service pack 3

Turn off compatibility with older windows (like 98 or xp)

This fixes the graphic issue, but obviously not the CD one. It does not seem to be a common problem, how is it even possibile that there are so many bugs but not everyone gets the same ones? Honestly, this mess of a game shouldn't have been released here without proper patching.
