No shit Sherlock. A 1998 game requires you to look online for solutions on how to get it running, who would've thought?
Weeeeeellll it is the point of GOG to not have to do that. But besides that, it has issues with 10 for sure. They released a fix of sorts that kind of helped. If its still doesnt work, I wouldnt hold out hope for a GOG fix. You can dig as mentioned or roll back to Win7 or whatnot if you are really desperate.

Except it isn't. Just because they were given the rights to make homemade fixes from certain rightsholders on certain individual titles, doesn't mean it's a rule. This misconception really needs to die now.

Weeeeeeeellll, then you sir had better get on GOG and set them straight. And I quote...

"Even if the game is older than you are, we test it thoroughly, fix all the bugs, and apply patches so it runs flawlessly on your next-gen PC and on modern OSs."

Next time you step to the plate, be sure to bring your bat.

Honestly I dont know why I keep checking this, you got me on that. So this will be the last time. Speaking of trolling, let me remind you of your first post to a legitimate post (as unquestionably demonstrated)...

Plokite_Wolf: No shit Sherlock....
How anti-trolling of you. I guess I really am just trying to save a 16 year old from continuing his life of internet stupidity. Remember: Plate, bat. One day when you are older, you will thank me for this.

I am done now.

In case anyone is looking for constructive information:

The GOG Galaxy installer will put your game with all the other GOG games. Chaos Gate can't seem to handle being in a folder that's more than two folders' deep into your main drive.

C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Chaos Gate ...will not work

C:\ChaosGate ...worked for me.

There are other issues, but that's working for me as of now. My recommendation for people who just want to play a game advertised as working in Windows 10, is go find another game that works as advertised.

No, the bending over and taking it needs to go away. There was a time when you bought something on this site and it worked. Just because they've acquired most of the oldies and goodies doesn't mean they have a right to scrape the bottom of the barrel and sell us install files that don't do much.

An ever-shrinking team can not possibly keep up with disastrous OS updates and graphics card companies who don't give a shit about backwards compatibility.

Thanks Oathed
crash to desktop is part of the retro experience! That stuff happened all the time back then!
Man this kid Plokite_Wolf is a fucking idiot.

Hmmm, I pay for a product, the product is promised to work in all advertising, and then it doenst work. Must be my fault for being stupid.

"Eat more shit and take it harder consumer"

Yea I dont think so.
