I've been trying to get multiplayer working, but whenever I start to host it starts to connect, but never finish.

I tried with GOG Run Multiplayer and manual DOSBox IPX setup :I

1st Method: -Start Network Host Game

-In-Game: Network Game

-Set Node, Connecting...

2nd Method: -DOSBox

-Mounted C:

-ipx startserver

-Starts Game, Node setting again, just Connecting...

Did you change option in dosbox ipx=false to ipx=true?

no, you are wrong, how he can connect you when he dont know where to join xD

first person

ipxnet startserver

second person

ipxnet connect YOUR IP

after that he need to get message , he connected to your server

then start game both network, same room
