How was that strategy guide? I recall Prima products were really inconsistent. Some were very good, while others made such flagrant factual errors that it was obvious the author never actually played the game and was basically just writing BS (I'm not talking opinions or strategy, but straight up getting basic facts wrong that any player who actually played the game would know)

Well, why not make that determination for yourself? It's a free 30MB download. It wouldn't take much to figure out. I'm providing it for the sake of completeness to people who purchased the game in case they want official information on how to tackle various parts of the game.

That said, to answer your question, it seems pretty decent. I know what you mean where some guides are just truly useless and not helpful at all. This fortunately doesn't seem to be the case here. Each level has a short narrative of "How we beat this level" told in a historical fashion. It's not as nice as having a "Just do this" sort of approach, but you can easily extrapolate that from the write-up.

That link you provided has some VERY basic and preliminary information, probably suited to people who've never played the game before (noobs) . The actual strategy guide I linked above is, by way of comparison, EXHAUSTIVE. It's 300+ pages on in-depth information on not only general strategies, but also how to beat every specific level for both the Orc and Human campaigns, as well as the expansion. It's a far greater resource. Enjoy!

thanks for sharing. i collect a bunch of strategy guides and did not have this PDF. it would be nice if GOG included them like for other games (Morrowind GoTY). speaking of which Diablo also has a few strategy guides.

What other strategy guides not mentioned here do u have? can u share them? I have for example a lot of unofficial expansion cds with maps

actually you can still find many of them on archive.org and elsewhere.

depends on what you are looking for. i only have a handful of physical guides, mostly from Prima or Sybex. digital ones are collected whenever i can over the years but i only collect games that are of interest to me so it is not a comprehensive archive.
