I re-installed this game with some issues that I overcame but now I seem to be at the last final hurdle in order to play this game on Battle.net with no issues...

When I load the Classic version - the game loads at the resolution select but only in the "top left" hand corner of my monitor. It's not the black bars per se that everyone else has seen (a portrait vs. landscape setup) but rather a small fragment of the screen is a box of the game... everything else is black. When I load the Enhanced version - I have zero issues with the video settings. No matter how much I crank them up or crank them down, the game always works. It's only for the Classic version in order to play Battle.net.

Has anyone come across this issue with a fix? I have done the following:
- Run as admin
- removed DEP on the executables
- Put all settings to default
- uninstalled/re-installed the game
- Tried to use the "scaling solution" with the Nvidia control panel - yielded nothing.

All of these have done nothing but launch me a game that is incredibly tiny. Let me know if you'd like to see a picture as a referenced, I can do that if need be. Would love some help with this one.

You need only one option in video driver scaling settings - Keep Aspect ratio. With additional checkboxes (forcing by video driver, integer scaling).
Another one to check - resolution wrapping, that enforce 4k availability on FHD display
http://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/FidelityFX_Super_Resolution
Old games sometimes Don like it.

Also some over lays can cause this issue. Close Discord MSI Afterburner Nahimic LogiOptions etc. Even those looks like have no overlays some have it.
Those apps are NOT part of drivers. Not for sound, not for input devices.
Some else examples prob a lily listed somewhere here or on dedicated games articles (for all old Blizzard games) or on GOG Support games dedicated pages provided here or on this Wiki
http://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Troubleshooting_guide

Make sure aspect and DPI scaling at default option in exe Compatibility (set by video driver). All else turn off too. Maybe try enable or disable Fullscreeen optimisation (it should be set on by default from GOG, sometimes solve issues sometimes bring them).

If you use not just GOG but GOG Galaxy version installed and launched from client:
restart galaxy.exe as admin. Do verify game in client, at least twice in a row since Galaxy did not report verify result.
Start game (launcher) from client still in admin mode. Then you can restart it without admin
(only if all clients and games are not on disk C/ and installed to X/Games/.../).

It would be 640x480 stretched to display resolution as much as possible to keep squared screen at center - with larger unaccessable black zones on sides. Small not stretched in middle of the screen or not opened to fullscreen (open in task bars or appear on Desktop as window title bar only or stuck in 1/4 of screen/Desktop) - wrong video settings in driver, wrong resolution if game allow set any unsupported or third party apps overcome to Desktop block some else full screen apps mostly Overlay applications (take mouse priority too).

Movie Windows nowadays (Win8+) also bring more issues. All that overlay apps work better on Win7 cause now full screen D3D apps are wrapped to be non exclusive full screen by Windows/DirectX 11/12. Old games compatibility completely ignored.

Thanks for the input QWEEDDYZ, the only problem with this (I think) is that you might be focusing on the Enhanced version vs. the Classic version for some of the suggestions you gave me (which I still appreciate).

It doesn't appear that this game is actually operating on DOSBox, that I can still unless it's heavily integrated, so the solutions for the pcgamingwiki.com link weren't that helpful, sadly. And for the settings to keep aspect ratios, no extra settings, etc... that's all for the Enhanced version which runs just fine. It's Classic that's breaking for me.

As far as the situation at hand - it could still be a scaling thing but it's very odd that this isn't happening to others that I know of with similar, or even more updated computers, running relatively-recent Nvidia video cards. I've tried messing with the scaling settings on my Nvidia Control Panel and still came up short with nothing. Doesn't make sense why this is not working for me but working for others with the same install... Tried all that stuff too w/ regards to the: admin settings, running certain compatibility modes, 16-bit graphics, etc... all came up short.

See the attached picture for a reference as to what's happening to me when I start it up & play.

Set Windows UI size to125% maximum, not higher. Set Keep Aspect ratio in video driver (and addition check box if there is any like Force by driver instead of app and Integer scaling).

Experiment with Full screen optimisation checkbox in EXE Properties (on by default from GOG on all EXE, as any else arguments should work from launcher EXE's to all "daughter" process).
If nothing help try to experiment with else options there. DPI scaling are next to try (since issue with classic this one only on one EXE, should be OK with default by video driver).

A do again, 4k "upscaler" on non-4k displays. Require adding exe to video driver control panel and turned off for it. If used globally.

Nah - still nothing :(

So bizarre - feels weird that this is happening going through all this effort on the original version, not the high-res version. I may reach out to support to see if they have any solutions for this specifically.
