When I go to classic edition, and try to play multiplayer on global server /battle.net, as soon as I click connect, it goes right back to the multiplayer screen. I have port forwarded and turned off firewall.

Most likely you typed wrong CD-key.
You bypassed simple CD-key check while typing, but it's still wrong to join the server.

Do you know how I can re add the cd Key?

You can you the KeyChanger.exe in war2 directory to read and change your cd-key
