It would be really good to be able to map the roll and the spear on their own gamepad buttons while disabling the Down + jump & up+attack combinations . It would be best to have Volgarr jump with the sword down when pressing jump while crouching.
It's natural to map the roll and the spear to the gamepad's shoulder or trigger buttons, so once that's done it would be good NOT to trigger a roll by pressing down and jump, which is all too easily done by mistake. . .

It would be great to see these changes.
