I really want to like this game, and I do hope this gets better, but for me, this is currently unplayable:

- Torpedo Bombers wont drop Torpedos (although there payload disappears)
- Aircraft wont land/take off (enough fuel and ammo is there) or just simply (disappear)
- AI wont fight enemy reliable until I have to zoom into EVERY SINGLE ATTACK (Convoy attack, ASW Attack, Fighter Scramble) This means fighting 4 battles at ones sometimes.
- Air Groups bug out, wont land and will forever clog your Task Force OOB with no chance of reverting.

And the difficulty:
I am by no means an expert and I played my first campaign on easy. But srsly?

Oh, here are 3 enemy carriers with battleships on there way to Midway, ONE WEEK after Pearl Harbor. Dont have any Forces there? Sucks to be you.

Oh, here are two more carriers to support.

You finally got a decent counter attack force? Ok then, we just invade the Aleutian Islands with Cruiser and Battlecruiser, AND YOU CANT DO NOTHING! Oh, half the Aleutians are conquered. Well Admiral, You need to turn this around. But we wont give you any forces.

Oh you got a decisive Battle at Hand? Great, lets get fuc*ed over by the AI.

I really hope they turn this around, but at this moment, I can not recommend this game. A shame, I really was looking forward to this.

If you're on Windows, can you check how version 1.0.3 of the game works for you?
Are there any patchnotes? Because I would like to see what was apparently fixed. Just played a round, my Destroyers again managed to get killed by subs without killing one of them.

I cant fight two battles at ones, guys....

So at this point, I have a hard time motiviating myself to play on.

We'll be adding patch notes for the next update, sorry you are having issues, you can directly message us at support@victoryatseagame.com for direct questions
I played some more:

Difficulty: I got attacked by less carriers but a lot of battleships. Managed to take them out with air attacks. Still a bit suicide for Japan to just send Battleships, no? Maybe have them tone it down with direct attacks at the beginning and get into business at mid 1942.

ASW: AI still is bad without help.

Planes: Still prone to get stuck. My Carrier Lexington has permanently lost one torpedo squadron because it decided to get stuck near midway and wont get out. Nothing can help, they just disappeared from sight. Only the marker left.

Still to early to report more bugs, but I keep on and hang in there.

OK great thanks :)
Here are my thoughts about 1.0.4:

Planes: Still buggy, but I didnt encounter the "get stuck forever" Plane formation. Most planes do their work properly now, dropping their ordenance. Sometimes, Flights only have one Plane model while at full strength and then dont drop their bombe/torpedos. Maybe this is connected?

Bases: I still encounter the "Base at Sea" Bug where all the buildings are on the water. Saw it twice. (But thats less then before)

Difficulty: No notable changes, but less bugs means more room to actually fight. I had to really pull an all outer in 1941, enemy used 1 or 2 (cant remember) CV and 1 BC against the Aleutian and a short time later 3 BB and 3 CV against Midway. Through luck, cunning fleet tactics and more luck, I got them at the end.

Enemy captured Midway after 5 amphibious assaults, although there were no defenses left. Maybe a bug?

I would still recommend toning down easy, since a lot of new players might be overwhelmed.

Otherwise this was a really nice step in the right direction. I am hoping for more!

great you should have 1.0.5 very soon, just posting about it
The "stuck aiplanes" bug appeared again. Lost 2 squadrons of Fighters on the Enterprise, no chance in getting them back.

(Cant attach images out of some reason)

Edit: This was done on 1.0.4., so I can't say if it happens again in 1.0.5. Will restart my campaign and post again after some tries.

Okay.... Bad news:

It got worse. My entire Midway Airfield Forces decided to circle the airfield (with full complement of armament) and dont do anything. No landing, no attacking, just circling.

This cost me my entire fleet stationed there.

Thanks, but no thanks. Won't play until this entire thing is fixed ones and for all.
Hello, i have some problems with the game:

1- AI needs a rework and the weapons needs a close review, it should not be possible that a non escorted group of cargo ships end up sinking two British Cruisers with their deck guns becouse AI forgot their cruisers didnt had ammo on the frontal guns.
2. Deck guns may be same caliber but that does not mean that they are equal to a destroyer gun, X2 reload penalty is not enought.
3. Subs should not be able to fire their torps at very close range, torps need to arm themself and of course the sub needs to aim with periscope in that case the destroyer will make a quick work of it, also a surfacing submarine should not be able to fire its deck gun inmediatelly, people needs to get out of sub and man the gun first that takes time. and definitivelly should not fire faster than a destroyer sitting next to it.
4. Please add an option to fire torpedos in other numbers rather than a full spread, depleting half their stock in one salvo, historically you could fire even one if they chose to.
5. Statistics on ALL ships needs to be review, there are submarines with stronger armor than a destroyer or Light Cruisers more armored than a Heavy Cruiser, i mean if this is historic well so be it, but i seriously doubt a Gato class sub had more armor than a Porter Class DD.
6. on Shipyard the images of all the ships should show up it size based on their long, ex Atlanta LC should not be bigger than a Pensacola HC this may be just aesthetic but is confusing.
7. After reaching 2nd level of reserach i got the Brookling Class LC ready to build, however i cant find it on Shipyard building options
8. Port Airfields cant be used for more than one plane at a time even if it is on the air already and you have an hangar.
9. Guns in general are too accurate, it was not that way historically, and in game is rendering fastest smaller ships useless.
10. Air launched torps are invisible you cant dodge them, they just apply damage to ships inmidiatelly. based on probability?.
11. There is a problem with memory, after a few hours the game get slow almost unplayable, but if you save and restart it, game is fine again.

This is so far my experience with Victory at Sea Pacific, this is a very complex game and some errors are undestandable, even expected, but so far seems the game isnt yet finish the test phase. I do like it very much and hope you can fix the problems, i'll continuing playing the game and report any bug i found.

That doesn't seem right to me...?

Also: If I click the upgrade button, the War Bonds will be spent but the upgrade won't be build in. I can click 20 times. Pay 20 Upgrades, get nothing. (Have only seen it on this ship as of now.)

OK that is strange it is not upgrading thanks for the spot. Can you follow the instructions at the link below to get us a save and output log? https://www.gog.com/forum/victory_at_sea_pacific/bug_reports
I did a reinstall and cleaned my saves. :/ Didn't had the bug again. Might just be my install which got corrupted, who knows? If I get it again I'll provide you with one.
