I open the game, Paradox cutscene plays normally, game trailer run fine too, and then the game just crashes.

- Tried compatibility mode Win XP SP3, Win 7, Win 8
- ADM mode
- Forcing 640x480
- Disabling fullscreen optmizations

Nothing works, any ideas?

Managed to make the game work installing Directx 2010 redist following the guide from the official GOG Support page link.

What seemed to be solved, though, brought with it another problem: Game runs terribly slow.
Found this fix on Steam forums:

"Low FPS on Victoria Revolutions

If you have problems with low FPS on your PC it is probably connected with the operating system you have (Windows 8, 8.1, 10). One of the thing you can try to solve this annoying problem is downloading the dxcpl.exe - a file responsible for DirectX properties and uncheck the "Use Hardware Acceleration" option from the DirectDraw lap. You can download the file googling or visiting this polish site: -link removed by me because it looks like an insecure link- and clicking the "mały mirror z samym programem" link. ENJOY!"

But you can find dxcpl.exe easily online.

Doing this apparently worked, for now.
