Step 1 purchase game.
Step 2 die alot.
Step 3 rage exit.
Step 4 rage as game freezes

I mean really. I bought the game on sale and everytime I press exit it freezes and a big white box fills the screen
Right clicking task bar and choosing close program does nothing.
Ctrl Alt Del fails because the white box is over the task manager.

I literally have to restart my computer everytime I exit.

Its a shame text doesnt possess the ability to convey how infuriating this is.

Windows 8 64bit. Nvidia 520, 4 gigs ram. AMD 3.20 processor.

The game crashes every time I exit too. I also noticed that the music isn't playing for some reason. I'm using Windows 7.

i had the same problem before. my os is Win7 64bit.

try set the game folder and "C:\ProgramData\Vertical_Drop_Heroes_HD" as exception in your security app.
i solved launch and exit problem by this method.

if fails, try "SuperF4". this is tiny but useful tool when you cant exit program nor use task manager.

From what I've read, the previous version of Vertical Heroes Drop HD did not have all these issues--it's only the "Halloween" version that has all the bugs. I hope GOG will release a fixed version of this game soon so I can play it!

A solution, for me, was to run the game in Administrative Mode. In windows 8, maybe 7 as well, you can Right click your mouse on the item and say RUN IN ADMINISTRATIVE mode. I was able to use my mouse in the game, which didn't seem to work correctly when not in admin mode. I have seen this solution work for other GOG games, it seems to do with how the screen layers on the desktop and that is why it creates this weird white window upon closing but doesn't close.
