I just installed this game and it seems to start up and run fine, but additionally I get a Windows Security Alert warning that my firewall has blocked "astronautsgame-win64-shipping.exe" from accessing public networks.

This seems awfully fishy to me. Why does this game need to contact an external site? Is there any downside to simply disallowing it access?

FWIW I'm running Windows 8.1

Hi dlottero,

we can assure you that the warning from your firewall is a false positive. There is nothing dangerous about the game. Unfortunately Windows Security is not the best firewall in the world and it is oftentimes wrong.

Thanks, but why does this game need to access the network at all? It's a single-player game.
It probably has something to do with the GOG platform or the strange behaviour of Windows Security, which is objectively not the best available firewall/antivirus to be honest.

Our team looked into that and it turns out it is an Unreal Engine 3 quirk (the engine the game is running on) that we cannot change. You can tell Windows Security to block UE3 and you should still be able to play the game.

I get a similar message..." Astronauts Game-Win 64-shipping has stopped working." I reinstalled the game and still get the same message! Any thoughts?
