If you had previously problems with this game or you are considering purchase: I've finished the game using PlayOnLinux 4.2.9 + wine 1.8rc2 (32bit) + dotnet40 component, game installed from setup files 2.3.0.5 and patched with 2.4.0.6. I haven't tried the Redux version. Some issues during gameplay (please notice that I used rc version of wine):
- unable to decrease music volume
- some very minor gfx glitches - little white triangles in specific places (church, bridge, usually shadows)
- only one game crash during whole gameplay when I switched few times between game and other applications
- sound changes between locations are not smooth and it is probably the sound volume issue mentioned before

I tried this process, and the installer aborts with "Runtime Error (at 68:599)" at about 80% installed.

The gog installer, however, reports the installation completed successfully.

The game runs and plays reasonably well.

I'm worried I wont be able to finish it however? on account of the installation error?

I also tried Wine 1.9.15 with the same result.

Following up, I finished the game. Ignore the runtime error during installation. I also didn't install the dotnet40 component. The game installer seemed to try and install dotnet. The dotnet installer then indicated a newer version might be installed or some other meaningless/vague microsoft error.

In any event, PlayonLinux with wine 1.9.15(32bit) worked perfectly. I applied the patch as well.

The only glitch was the soundeffect/music volume. The roaring water was overwhelming, even during the final credits, but that's only during one "level."

great game! I would not have purchased this unless there was evidence it ran on Linux, and it does. Thanks boloek!
