Hello fellow GOGgers (that's what the cool kids are calling it nowadays),

so i'm having this really annoying stuttering issue with this game where it would randomly freeze up then rubberband a split second. It seems to happen more frequently during dialogue or when a radio is turned on in the background. It can still happen anytime, though and it's frequent enough to be pretty distracting from the game. It runs somewhat okay in the Santa Monica hub and at the Hospital, but during the intro and at Santa Monica pier, it happens every few seconds.

Things i've tried to troubleshoot:

- Disabling High Quality Audio in-game
- Running the game in various compatibility modes (as admin, Win98, WinXP SP3, etc)
- Disabling V-Sync
- Forcing max performance mode via the GPU driver settings
- Running the game in windowed mode
- Disabling anything related to Game Mode/DVR in Windows
- Disabling all unneccessary background processes (including antivirus, monitoring tools or lighting controls)

I haven't yet tried moving the game from my HDD to an SSD, to rule out some kind of buffering issue with the HDD. But i won't get my hopes up.

Basic System Specifications:

- Ryzen 5 2600
- 2x8GB 3200MHz Memory
- GTX 1060 6GB
- Windows 10 (Build 17763)

The latest compenent drivers are installed and all components are running at their stock speeds. VtM:B is at v1.2 with the UP v10.2 installed. No other mods are installed.

If anyone has more stuff to try out in order to fix this issue, i'd be more than happy to give 'em a go. Thanks!

Your Windows is severely outdated. Fix that and return after that. If you are having problems with updating, you need to check which graphics card you have and update that one first.
Thanks for the response.

I've installed the latest feature update (albeit reluctantly) and found a new chipset driver and installed that one as well. Meanwhile, i've tried running this game off an SSD. The issue still persists.

Since the "Ryzen Balanced Power Plan" can be a little iffy at times, i've also tried going for "Maximum Performance" instead. No luck either.

Edit: Now, i'm pretty sure it exclusively happens, when audio (BGM after loading an area, dialogue) is being loaded.

Ah, I have a problem with this in several games too. Sadly do not know how to fix it.

I was hoping the new drivers for AMD processors that came with the spring update would have alleviated your problem.
