Hello;

I've read that the GOG version of "Vampire Redemption" does work on modern systems, but I've read many comments saying that it has some serious bugs; while others actually indicate that everything works perfectly (as we'd expect, naturally).

I'd like to know if those bugs have been fixed or, in short, what's the current state of the game . . . I'd like to buy the GOG version to replay it (I still have the CDs) but only if it works fine; otherwise, I think I'll wait a bit, or try and take the dust off an old CPU that's around and should still run the CD version problem-free...

Thanks!
I don't think so. It works really well, the gog version. The retail has problems (i own both).

The one and ONLY issue with GOG version, is that sometimes, but very rarely, your save might become corrupted. If you save each time in two different files simultaneously, though, this is NO ISSUE at all. The other problem came after the official patch's application but it isn't anything serious; right after loading a game, disciplines do not work correctly for A FEW SECONDS. Again, no big deal. Lastly, some resolutions in widescreen leave part of the characters outside screen during dialogue, or in multiplayer character creation box. This is no issue, if you set a resolution to a non widescreen one but then again, it's nothing serious.

GoG version rocks. You HAVE to get it! Best one around!

Thanks so much for your reply, Mr Davey Jones! (sorry: I couldn't resist :) .)

I loved this game back in the day; I distinctly recall how it almost melted my computer, but I stubbornly played it anyway (and later finally got a good video card for it) - and how I stayed awake till way past midnight in the final parts, for I had to finish it that night...

It will be great to enjoy it once more!

The issues you mention are indeed trifles, happily. And the widescreen thing - I'd be using 1366x768 but (if I must) I don't mind to play in 4:3 at all!

Thanks again! Now off to buy it.

I wish the official servers didn't stop functioning, many years ago. I would be happy to start a multiplayer story with you... This game is also one of my own favorites.

Ah, indeed!

Likewise. That'd be good! :)

Cheers my lad.
