Don't get me wrong, i LOVE VtMB but the unique problem(asides bugs and crashes) is that use firearms makes no sense. For me that love to play in first person, is a terrible problem. The unique "strong" weapon is Jaime Sue and even this weapon do almost no damage without zooming, but with the zoom, looks like a .50 BMG armor piercing incendiary round(API), you can kill bosses in few hits.

Without any melee skill, you will deal more damage using trance + knife than with the .38 special. Other problem is the ammo cost. Is much better have money to purchase blood "packs" and people don't use "silver ogive bullet" or incendiary ammo. If werewolfs/vampires exists in real life, every "vampire hunter" will use this type of ammo. In anime Hellsing, Alucard's uses his superior vampire abilities to fire .454 Casull and 13mm rounds with a insane "recoil management" and accuracy and Seras Victoria with 20mm+ weapons can easily hit you at extreme distances at night. I see vampires using superior "supernatural" power to be stronger, more persuasive, etc but not to be better shooters.

***SPOILER below****

For example, Nines Rodriguez with a silver ogive bullet can easily defeat the werewolf.

I believe Nines killed the werewolf with his grenade, there is no evidence in him using silver bullets if these work on WoD werewolfes at all. Also I had no problems myself to beat Bloodlines using firearms only. Just choose Toreador clan, boost Celerity until you can fight Matrix style and then use better guns like the Steyr or the Desert Eagle...

Dude, with all respect, you probably just don't get it. Firearms become quite formidable from the moment you get your arms on a shotgun and Glock, both of which can be obtained in SM. The best sharpshooters in the game are Toreadors, but Tremere and Malk would do as well. Just take "Starving artist" history at the begining, use firearms increasing book two times at the start, put 6 exp into the third point of f-arms, 4 exp into perception and 5 into auspex, and you'll have a decent shooter right at the start. Aslo, don't buy weapons in the game. Ever. All of them except one, SPAZ 15, can be obtained for free. Also, always sell check the guns that you get for the first time for how many ammo do they have inside. If they dont have much, sell them. With 6 points in haggle one Glock pistol costs 27 $, regardless of how much ammo it has inside. For 27 $ you can buy 3 magazines for Glock, or 51 bullet. Just be sure that you can take another Glock somewhere. Some weapons not worth selling, though. Like Utika or Mac Ingram. Their selling cost is less than the price of ammo. And it's very important to have 6 haggle, which is not a big deal, really. You need to spend only 3 exp for it. And I don't get why would you ever need to buy blood bags. You get 10 regular bags pretty early in the game, 1 blue blood bag and two elder vitae. For Ventrue it's even better, somewhat. Also you get chalice from Pisha. There is just no way that you will need more than that.

Mostly agree on the blood packs - even playing as a mostly-talkie Malk (who didn't get decent firearms skills until later in the game - when the weapons became worth it), I don't think I needed to buy any blood packs. I think I did buy some anyway (for the final fight), but ended up hardly using them. That chalice definitely comes in handy.

I do agree that it's generally easier to fight with melee weapons, although that could be because my firearms and perception weren't really high until later - and also because blood buff helps a lot with melee, but not so much with firearms.

--- I feel that guns are over powered period - these are vampires, after all. By the end, you can use the large revolver to take out the flying sheriff easily, kill Ming, etc without much effort using automatic weapons and a handty flame thrower. Really, it's a rather easy game with fire arms. Melee weapons do more damage as they should and using a trick to down the flying sheriff makes it feasible. People have taken out Ming using melee but I sure haven't been able to.

I only managed to go to nosferatu lair because i've used domination + melee otherwise, i will be without any ammo or blood to use disciplines...

I've used blood strike(tremere) in final boss.

Firearms is only good against bosses, against regular enemies, as a Tremere i rather use blood shield + dominance + melee than firearms.I never managed to pass the Romero's challenge with guns but with disciplines is quite easy
