lordhoff: Also, the TPG creator swears by Win7 and has never updated the patch for later machines. There have been others who made it work with Win8 but I don't know if that is true with Win10.
OP1: In theory TP should work just as fine as the UOP does on Windows 10 if I keep the compatibility files from the UOP.
What I intend to do to make this work is like this:
1. Make a backup of the Vampire and bin folder before doing anything else
2. Copy the Vampire folder from the True Patch and then paste this into the game folder, overwriting the existing files.
3 From the backup I made in the first step I will then copy the dll files inside the Vampire\cl_dlls and Vampire\dlls folders
and put these files inside the corresponding folders in the game folder.
4. If this doesn`t work the culprit is any of the dll files or some of the files in the bin folder that will have to be replaced.
Let us know if it works! Also, on rereading Wesp5's input, I think he's saying to do exactly what you are planning but - I'm an old fart and my technical vocabulary is limited - I could easily be wrong. For a long time, I recommended that new players use the TP/TPG then, if the game becomes a bit stale, move on to the UP. Then Wesp5 came out with the UP basic and, after trying it, recommended either but now, because one has to do things to get the TPG to work, I've been telling people they may as well use the basic patch. Both do the job with few changes to the game and, well, it's just easier with the patch already being there in GoG (and I think Steam too). It'd still be nice to know if what you do does indeed work, though.
