I can't seem to find the masquerade.ini file or any of the save game fiels. I have looked in the directory for this game and none of these files are present. I'm baffled.

Update: Found it. In case anyone else is wondering, under Windows 7 they are in the following location: C:\Users\admin\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Vampire The Masquerade - Redemption

where 'admin' is the username you are logged into the workstation as

I do not have any thing under Virtual Store ?no program files nothing no folder icon not a thing so i have no ini file
meaning that must be why game crashes at startup
If I recall right, when you nav to the VTMR install directory and don't see the masquerade.ini or save game folder, you should see a tab appear on the explorer window saying "Show compatibility files" or something like that. Note, those files are usually created after the game has ran. So you wont see those files unless you run the game at least once.

The last time I had an issue like this was back when I had Vista and the problem was solved after installing updates and service packs.

I can not get it to launch with out the ini i think since it crashes before the game starts with a generic windows error in win 7x64 bit version :( i can not even find the ini online to just copy it even i submitted a issue report game crashes right after launch
The game should be able to create a new ini file when you run it. There should be no crash. Some other issues may be contributing to your problem. I'd say that your hardware setup is not playing nice with Redemption. Doing a DXDiag, checking Device Manager, and letting us know what drivers you are using could help identify the problem.

There's a lot of hardware out there and it's very difficult to help if we don't know what people are using.
