I read alot about this game and have always wanted to play it so i just bought it as i played the sequel. I didnt really like bloodlines the 2nd game because i dont think the vampires were how i thought they should be (once you see 30 days of night, it happens). I am hoping that they will be that way in this game.

Besides all that, i am wondering about what attributes and builds there are for this game. Does this game have any diverse viability or is there just one way to get through this game. I am hoping for the former since i like have a lot of choices when classes are involved. I know that you just get to play as a brujah which is cool, but can you make a finesse build that just wields short swords daggers and light armor and speeds his way through. Or do you have to wear platemail and swing a giant sword so you barely breathe.
Unlike Bloodlines, VTM:Redemption is a party-based game, which gives you a fair bit of freedom when deciding how to build your own character. Additionally, although you're required to play as a Brujah you get access to manuals on many additional disciplines (from other clans) through the course of the game, so you could play much of the game basically like a Tremere if you wanted to (or anything in between).
Thanks for the info. I have a question. Does dexterity affect how fast you swing your weapon?

I'm not an authority but it sticks in my mind that it doesn't. I believe it makes it harder for an enemy to hit you.
Is there a detailed faq anywhere for this game. I cant seem to find out what each attribute does for you and gamefaqs doesnt seem to have one. I can figure out strength for myself, but dex, perception, intelligence, and wits are all up in the air. I read somewhere that dex gives you a chance to get a 1 hit ko but im not sure if thats confirmed. Does anyone know? I find it hard to believe that wits, perception, and intelligence just allow you to get higher spells.
Dexterity:

"Dexterity modifies the base movement and attack speeds for the character and also increases the aiming ability for projectile weapons. A high Dexterity will also increase a character’s chance of making a critical hit, which causes an enormous amount of damage. Also, some weapons have a minimum Dexterity for usage."

Perception increases the chances of noticing things you wouldn't notice otherwise, high Wits makes it harder to become frenzied, high Intelligence is required for advanced disciplines.

Attributes are covered in CH3 of the manual.

Edit: Typo's.

What I did throughout the game was leveled up feed and heal, points into strength and melee type things and went around bashing everything. worked for me
How do you level up feed? I just became a vampire and i cannot feed on the unwilling in combat, but they can to me.
'Feed' is a Common Discipline, you level it up just like you do with all other disciplines.

You CAN feed off the unwilling in combat. Use "Awe" (Presence, Level 1), or "Mesmerize", "Eyes of the Snake", in essenc,e anything that makes sure your opponent stands around and stares blankly. That's ingame-mechanic for "PLEASE Drink my blood o mighty master!".

And of course, having more strength than the victim helps, too, if you simply cannot get him to stare at you.

However, there are exceptions. Most Bosses and the Teutonic knights are not feedable, as are the Tzimisce Servants - Szlachta, War Ghouls and of course, Vozhd.

Bashing was my favorite for my coterie, too. They don't change weapons if they run out of ammo! I stocked up on blood and used the incineration spell or the ring of fire spell for Christoph. My favorite scroll was plague winds.
