Hey folks, I'm a real rookie with computers and have been trying to install custom player character skins into Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. I've tried placing the content in various folders with no luck and have even looked up similar questions to see if that would help but have had no luck. Is anybody willing to walk a noob through this step by step?

You ask a very mod-specific question. I've never installed that mod. You should go to places where that mod is discussed (like moddb?) and read all the comments. If you are having a problem it is quite possible that someone else did too.
