JeffSutro: I am stuck trying to get past the control / pump room and out of the reservoirs.

Apparently you are supposed to be able to turn the pumps off and then on again and swim to the reservoir and the pump will come on again and flood the reservoir so you float out the hole in the ceiling.

I have been able to turn the pump off and then I turn it back on again and head to a reservoir. However the pump does not come back on again and I can't get out of the reservoir. I am stumped, and would be grateful for any advice.

Should I try reinstalling the game?

Perhaps this problem has been reported before, in which case I would be grateful if someone would direct me to where I can find the answer.

alcaray: It's not a problem. It is just very hard to do. When I get to that part I heave a great sigh and make sure I've got an hour or two to keep trying a frustrating task over and over till I get it right. It is a race where you toggle the pump and run like hell, jump just right and swim like hell to get where you need to be before the pump kicks in and you have to start over.

There are walkthroughs online that explain the procedure in detail, and with pictures, if you need more info.

ludgerarnold: Never heard about this problem before. Which version of the game do you have installed? Any mods?
If you have encountered other unexpected problems you should consider a reinstallation with Wesp's latest patch. But if you do, you will have to start a new game because using old savegames will cause more problems than a reinstallation might solve.
If this is the only major bug so far I suggest you use noclip to continue and install a new patch for your next character.
To open the console, use the tilde key (the one left of the 1). But to close the console better use the command chareditor because closing the console with tilde usually freezes the controls.
