Hi guys.

I'm having trouble feeding in towns. Every time I try to feed (in Prague atm) a guard runs up and starts attacking me, then my coterie kills him and I lose humanity. Is there some kind of trick to feeding in town without being attacked?

If you're in Prague, right when you leave the building your haven is in, there is a guard by a door off to the left. One thing that helps if you aren't using a patched version is use your Presence Discipline on the guard til it lands. Another thing, by the health bars of your coterie members, there is a little green dot, you can click that dot and it makes them stand there and not follow whichever character is moving around.

I usually just use one member of the coterie only through the whole game. When Selena joins the coterie, I usually save her experience for when she gets Path of Flames as a Discipline path and go deep into it for that Flame Shower thing. Forget what it's called. Then when it's time to go into the clock tower, I generally make her solo that, and stick with Christoff the rest of the game. I haven't replayed it using Javokis' mods yet, but I fully intend to just been replaying some Heroes of Might and Magic III maps, and tooling around on a custom one I started working on like 4 months ago. Meow.
A pretty easy way is to find someone where there are no guards. The Cappadocian Monastery has a bunch of Monks just milling around you can snack on until your hearts content.

A better way is to use 'F' while fighting to gobble down some vampires. As soon as you're latched on they don't move until they're dry. Serena and Wilhem will usually deal with anyone else (maybe).
Using Awe on the guards makes them easy targets for feeding.

Shameless Plug:

The Age of Redemption 2012 mod improves party AI reactions to guards and pedestrians considerably. Once you feed on a ped in AoR 2012, your party will "passively" respond to nearby guards by using Awe on them if they have it. They will also use passive abilities to try to "crowd control" the area. Only party members on the path of humanity will do this. Serena and Pink are not on the path of humanity and will kill or completely drain nearby peds & guards when the need arises.

Want a better AI? Use Age of Redemption 2012. You can get it here:

The most simplest answer would be "dont feed on people when theres guards around" but I appreciate thats not that helpful. :p

Either pick your prey out of sight from others, use one of your disciplines or drink the blood then leg it (after telling your party members to remain on the defensive instead of offensive/neutral).

I personally used to just wait till I was in combat zones and drink off of enemy targets. If I was running low during town areas I'd take a sip off of a party member or rely on blood vials.
Thanks for all the answers guys! I've been using a mixture of finding isolated spots in towns (monastery in Prague, a respawning hobo in vienna, and brothel in london. Haven't had a chance to look around new york, yet) and feeding on enemies in combat. I'm finding if I enter combat alone, I can pretty much crush everything by rationing my blood correctly.

Also celerity is like the greatest ability on the planet.
Well I do not know where the problem is when feeding. You technicaly should not even be in a situation where you need to feed outside of a dungeon.

There is only one Dungeon in which you cannot directly feed, and it is the dungeon in vienna where you finally get Ainkurn. Which, in turn, enables you to feed even there.

Else, use Theft of Vitae.

And if you do not want to RUSH through that game but rather take your time and enjoy the scenery, you just kill every single humanoid enemy (notable exceptions of courste szlachta and war-ghouls) by feeding on them.

Boost Strength, Add Potence if necessary, then feed and have a nice relaxing view. Theft of Vitae does the same, only quicker.
