I should be more awake when I make posts, this needed more of an explanation.

Unofficial Wineskin was originally a project based on the codebase from doh123, once Vitor uploaded his updated codebase to GitHub I merged back all my patches then moved over to using the new codebase and became a project collaborator. "Unofficial" is the name of my development branch and is the base of the Unofficial Wineskin project the goal of my project is to implement new features and fix as many Wineskin bugs as possible, then cherry pick what's ready and commit that into the project on GitHub.

It's more than just code changes, other parts were overhauled along with updated dependancies like 7zip, cabextract and the addition of ntlm_auth. The dylibs were fully replaced with newer universal libs, where some dylibs needed to be patched and compiled from source manually to function correctly with Wineskin.

I've followed the instructions in the OP to the letter and when I open the application I get a white screen which flashes and closes a bit. I'm then in a dark screen where I can't select anything and have to restart my computer. Is this a common problem? How do I fix it?

The white then black screens sound like you might be hitting the intro video failure (which is common). Usually though you can just hit escape/enter a few times to skip through them and hit the main menu. If that's not the case then you might need to get some test logs before anyone can be of much help.

As to restarting, on MacOS you can [usually] bring up the force quit menu with Command+Option+Esc unless you're in a full deadlock or kernel panic. Alternately, you may be able to Command+Tab out of the app, Command+H to hide it, or one of the following to take the app out of fullscreen:

• Command+Enter
• Command+F
• Command+Shift+F
• Command+M
• Command+Shift+M

Occasionally there are some other odd combos as well, but those are the most common off the top of my head ;)

As an aside, I keep meaning to get back here to update the OP with PortingKit installation instructions—it's a bit easier and VtMB is a little less buggy in newer wine engines. I put together a quick outline, but haven't done the actual write up yet.

Hi I'm completely new and a complete pleb when it comes to this sort of stuff so forgive me if I ask something stupid or obvious. I've tried following the instructions as best as I can but I keep on getting an error message saying that galaxy Web installer requires .NET framework. Any ideas on how to fix?

It sounds like you clicked the big blue "Download and Install Now" button, which is the GOG Galaxy game link.

You need to grab the files (2 parts) under the "Download Offline Backup Game Installers" section below the GOG Galaxy section of the same page.

Hey, having an issue that I can't find any other answer, so forgive me if this a really obvious problem I'm not seeing, but when I try and run the install with my wrapper, it says it cannot find the bin file. Am I doing something wrong here?

Assuming you're selecting the *.exe file to run from your wrapper, did you download both parts 1 and 2 (from the "Download Offline Backup Game Installers" section of the downloads page) to the same folder?

They're currently listed as 3MB and 2.5GB respectively.

I'm having issue with quitting this game: wine32on64-loader process stays open after i exit.
some context:
macOS Catalina latest patch, latest Gcenx wineskin server (WS11 64 bit etc.)
tried installing with/without unofficial patch, checking/unchecking ådvanced graphics, nothing seems to help.
Maybe some suggestions here?

On related ProtonDB page (can't post links yet), according to comments here it sounds more like wine issue with VtMB than issue with wineskin
Still, are there any ways to automatically run quit to resolve this?
