Just grab yourself and Exquisite Broadsword and an Insulated Great Shield, preferably with resistance to Lightning. Insulated Gauntlets with same resistance build up an ice cold combo. This way you get defense, resistance AND interesting melee damage. Even though Ainkurn sword deals Aggravated, it is only 30 (small number), swings slowly, takes two hands and the minuscule blood it drains can be drained en masse with some discipline (asp or theft).
