Just needed to get this off my chest because it happens too often on forums where the devs control whats said.
There is no forum for the new Bloodlines on GoG but I figured if anyone was going to buy it, they would be on this forum.

After reading about the new Bloodlines game, it sounds bloody awful. You can only play a female vampire name "Phyre"
You cant customize her.
You play as an Elder with the new ruleset guiding the gameplay.

I said it sounded like a woke POS and that they were basically shitting on one of the greatest games Ive ever played. Masquerade. And that I thought it was said they couldnt have just taken that as an outline, updated the graphix, gameplay, etc but still have the same kind of choices, as in what your character looked like, male/ female, etc. and that they were blowing a huge opportunity.

I was banned immediately and permanently. No warning. No nothings. Just banned from the forums. I contacted Steam because I hadnt called anyone names or insulted anyone. According to Steams policies I did not break any rules. But I guess their particular forums allow censorship if your going to critisize their game. This shit is all too common now days.

The game does look like garbage to me, and why the hell would they give the development to Chinese Room? Whatever. The point is, these are the people making the game. Cant handle critisism, so delete the post so no one else can see it. Makes me feel like I hit too close to home.

Meanwhile Bloodlines 2 looks REALLY bad right now.

They wont do any DLC. Very bad sign for Paradox. They revel in DLC. Stellaris for example is like 300 bucks or some such, because of the many DLC. I would much prefer if it was like 30 bucks now, and a much more simple and straightforward game with decent enemy AI. As it stands its a HOG of a game with an almost absurd amount of options, and a ton of issues, including that the enemy AI isnt too bright.

Also we only get four relatively, well, not that varied clans. The three clans that I liked most in Bloodlines 1 wont be there.

And in case of Bloodlines 2, they wont work with the same developer again. Another really bad sign.

And you indeed cant pick the name of your character. Only the gender, visuals, vampire clans, and of course the stats.


There is still hope that its nevertheless fun enough. After all I personally never expected Bloodlines 2 to be as good as Bloodlines 1 anyway. We'll see.
