So I've recently wanted to start playing again, and loaded a savegame in Santa Monica (before the warehouse).

I've noticed that all of the NPCs on the streets (cops, normal people) are just standing still.

The savegame I've loaded might be from 9.5, maybe this is the issue? Is there any way to fix this? It's no big deal I suppose, it's just weird.

Edit: in fact, I've just started a new game just to be sure and it turns out the NPCs aren't moving either. I definitely remember them walking around, cops patrolling etc. Guess it's a bug with 9.6?

Edit #2: would mark the topic as solved, but of course I forgot to mark it as a question in the first place :P

Improbably as I haven't heard about it yet. Are you starting the game always from the same shortcut? Have you a special system setup like using Linux or Python?

Starting the game from the Galaxy client (the mod is active as far as I know, at least it says "9.6 basic" in the options menu).
I'm on Windows 10, so nothing special there.

Okay nevermind, I've ran the verify/repair tool in the Galaxy client and voila, the NPCs are moving again.

Cops patrolling, Prostitutes strutting, goth guy going to take a leak behind the Asylum etc.

Problem solved, cheers for the reply anyway Wesp; keep up the good work :D
Guess I was a bit hasty.

Now it seems that NPCs in the Asylum club are frozen. I also got the message 'AI disabled' when I first entered.
That message doesn't appear anymore after trying a different save/character, but the NPCs are still just standing around.

This happens when the AI map files are missing and after the AI nodes have been created the game should work normally. So there still is something wrong with your setup! Do you have a lot of AIN and LOC files in the maps/graphs folder?

I reinstalled the game and deleted all savegames (was only about an hour into Santa Monica anyway).

I started again last night and played a little bit into Santa Monica again (went to visit Mercurio, entered Asylum and talked to Jeanette just to test it), NPCs still aren't moving.
There's 101 .ain files in the graphs folder, no .loc files though.

Maybe Galaxy failed to delete some subfolders during the uninstall?

EDIT: I checked the wrong folder (Vampire instead of Unofficial Patch), I manually deleted everything now and will try again after clean reinstall.

EDIT #2: I'm starting to suspect this was all due to old temporary files (or whatever those .ain and .loc files are; graph nodes?) still sitting in the game's directory after upgrading from 9.5 to 9.6.
