C.Majerczyk: Why no German Language?
TheKaoBln: Translations are only Community-Translations, not from the developer,i think.
Is it easy to made an Translation? Or is it like Unity(Engine)Baked? I mean must the Translators send the translated files to the developer, or easy made an mod-package that can be downloaded?
Hi there,
Translations cannot be created easily. Translators should have in-depth knowledge about the game, file formats used etc., and have a basic understanding of the translation process.
At least the majority of translations used in Urtuk are stored in TXT files (e.g. translations.en.txt) found in <installation folder>/game/desktop-1.0.jar (which is just an archive). The scope is approx. 33.000 words. That's a lot.
Attached is a screenshot with the English translation file loaded in Swordfish which, btw, identified it as a JSON file with a TXT suffix.
I am not familiar with the file format used. If I were to translate it, I would contact the dev first to discuss the procedure and technical tidbits ("Are strings such as '#h{normal attack}' variables, or are these to be translated directly?").
Cheers
