After leaving this game in my backlog for almost a year, I decided to round to it again. I completed the game yesterday siding with ARC so this time around I'm playing the Arunmor missions but I seem to have a bit of a problem and I'm not sure if anyone else has had the same problem.

I have checked online for walkthroughs, the ultimate uplink guide and forums but can't seem to find any mention of this problem. I have tried probing all LAN systems several times and I have looked into each of the terminals and that didn't help either.

I start (as always) at the router which leads to a hub and 4 terminals (all of which contain nothing). I go through the second terminal to a hub then an authentication servers. I get through there, the terminal south of the lock contains nothing, the one on the left is a subnet which must be spoofed to access the authentication server north of the lock. I do that, open the lock to the north, the terminal to the right contains nothing so I go left to the hub. The upper left terminal os a subnet that needs to be spoofed to access the authentication server south of the hub. I do so, unlock the lock which brings me to a terminal with the phone number 08998-593068, but...............where do I use this number exactly? The IP lookup tool just tells me it's for the ARC LAN

The e-mail from Arumnor stated when the LAN in online, the file server is cut off from the net. In order to get around this, a mole in ARC was going to install a remote access modem but I don't see a modem anywhere. If I scroll down a little, the GUI borders will "break" which means there is another LAN system there but it won't show up on the HUD. I've attached screenies so you can see what the LAN layout is

Have a missed something? Or have I encountered a game breaking bug? If it's a bug, is there anyway to reset the layout of LAN without having to start the game all over again? BTW I'm only using the Uplink launcher, no other mods are installed.

Sometimes LANs are separated out, and consist of multiple sections that don't connect to each other. This is what the phones are for, to connect to the other sections of the LAN.

When you put the phone number into the IP Lookup tool, it should give you an IP address for that node. Connect to that node and you should be able to access the rest of the LAN. Make sure you enter the phone number exactly as you found it. If you did it right, you should now have a second ARC LAN address in your IP list, which is the phone's entry point rather than the main entry point. You should be able to continue from there.

+1

Thanks for your help there. I did actually put the number in the IP Lookup tool and it returned "ARC Local Area Network" but I missed the fact it put a second ARC LAN link in my address directory. None of the guide I checked stated that this might be the case which is why I overlooked it. Anyways, I was able to push forward and complete the game siding with Arunmor. I'm assuming when the "Revelation, retrospect" article appears in the news, that it's the end of the game? I fast forwarded a month after but nothing happened.
If you don't side with ARC, the Revelation mission is basically the end of the main story, yes. The game doesn't actually end, however. You're free to continue doing missions and the game will continue indefinitely. If you chose to ignore the plot entirely in the beginning, the outbreak will take care of itself and nothing really changes.

If you sided with ARC, though, Revelation is the end of the game one way or another. You either win the final mission or you get disavowed. If you win, though, you get a slightly different info screen when you login as that user.

That's what I thought, well, one less game in the backlog :)

I thought the problem above was a bug because of some of the strange things that could happen in this game. "Frame a dude for bank fraud" missions didn't always work (I only used 3 jump points), stealing a ton of files missions were fine but the file server to upload them doesn't always have enough space or incidents like the picture attached here, transferring money from an account into the same account is a little.................strange
