I just purchased this for linux and fired it up, but all except the last item in a menu are blank :(

If you search for 'Uplink Linux invisible text ' you get a steam thread regarding this also.

Has anyone encountered something similar?

I have same problem in Linux Mint 20.1 some text are missing, and i dont have ingame sound too :(

I have managed to fix the invisible text in menus. I have an Nvidia/Intel graphics combo on my laptop, installing and running start.sh with this worked: github.com/felixdoerre/primus_vk

Nice! :D however it don't apply to me :( i have Radeon R9 390 with amdgpu driver, if i use WINE for windows version i have music but text is still missing. You give me some idea with tweaking vulkan settings

Same issue on arch with intel gpu. I know Steam version is also affected, presumably it broke after some linux component/library got updated so should affect all non-ancient systems. Quite unplayable sadly.

In Wine it's even worse because not only text is invisible but also mouse pointer is displayed as black square.

UPDATE:

I kinda found workaround. The UplinkOS mod seems to work perfect in Wine and there are no visual bugs. It's graphics overhaul mod changing game look and interface to more modern and convenient but without touching core gameplay.
